Taskavel documentation

Learn the shipped Taskavel workflow, from a first project to MCP-connected AI assistants.

Taskavel keeps project work, task boards, time logs, written standups, notes, and integrations in one workspace. This documentation describes the behavior available in the application today.

Start with one project

  1. Complete your profile and set the timezone used for due dates, reminders, and time logs.
  2. Create a project, then use its first board and columns to represent the workflow.
  3. Add tasks, assign people who are members of that project, and move work as it progresses.
  4. Invite collaborators from the project’s team area when the work is ready to share.

Find the right guide

Use Getting started for the first-session checklist. The documentation section explains everyday project work; the Knowledge Base is organized around problems such as a missing project or an archived task. The MCP section explains the server at /mcp/taskavel, its OAuth connection, personal access tokens, and generated tool reference.

Scope and access

Project membership controls what a person can see and change. Owners and admins manage project structure and people. Members can work on project content. Guests can view project content but cannot make changes. MCP uses the same authenticated user and therefore only works within that user’s accessible projects.
