Create and manage projects

Organize a body of work, switch projects, and use project-level settings.

Create a project

Open the projects area and choose Create project. A project is the boundary for its boards, tasks, members, milestones, notes, activity, and integrations. Creating a project scaffolds its initial workspace; you can then add boards or use an available board template.

Work inside the selected project

Use the project switcher or the project list to change the current project. Its overview brings together project information and work; related pages expose the team, activity, notes, milestones, integrations, reports, boards, and project settings.

Ownership and administration

The project owner can update or delete the project and controls the project-level AI setting. Owners and admins can update project configuration and manage members. Members can create and edit project work. Guests can view content but cannot make changes.

Use a focused project boundary

Put work that needs different members, boards, or integrations in a separate project. A task, its board, and its collaborators all remain tied to one project.

Before you create it

You need a completed profile and verified account to use the authenticated workspace. Decide whether the work needs its own members or workflow. If it does, create a project; if it only needs another stage, add a board or column inside the existing project. A project name alone is not a task location: tasks live on boards inside it.

Useful operating checks

Use the project switcher to confirm the current project before adding work. Review the project overview for its related board, team, activity, note, milestone, and integration pages. Owners can update or delete the project and control project-level AI access; admins can manage project configuration and people; members can create and edit project work; guests remain view-only.
